4 amazing boutique hotels in Cape Town & wine lands

Last January, I spend two weeks in the wonderful city of Cape Town, South Africa. I went on a search for the best places to eat, but also the very best places to spend the night. In this post I’m sharing 4 amazing boutique hotels you simply don’t want to miss. From the home where Charlize Theron once stayed to breakfast with the most amazing view ever. For on your wish list!

1. Retreat on Hove in Camps Bay
In a luxurious residential area in the trendy beach location Camps Bay, you can find this modern home, with lots of glass to enjoy every amazing view of the sea as well as Table Mountain. This is not really a boutique hotel, but more like staying with good friends. And those friends just happen to have a truly gorgeous house with four spare rooms for you to stay. Retreat on Hove is kind of like a movie star home and therefore it’s not surprising that the (originally South-African) Charlize Theron stayed here for a while.
All my pictures and an extended report can be found here.

2. Sea Star Rocks in Camps Bay
Also in Camps Bay, but a little higher on the mountain, is boutique hotel Sea Star Rocks located. You need to endure the steep winding roads (just don’t look down and you’re good), but it’s definitely worth it. A slightly different view than at Retreat on Hove and just as good, if not better, because: beach in sight!. All Sea Star Rocks rooms face the infinity pool or have there own plunge pool and they are so big, that they feel like your own little home.
All information and my personal experiences can be found here.

3. The Light House in Paarl
Paarl is located nearby Stellenbosch and Franschhoek and is the cutest little town in the breathtaking wine lands of South Africa. In this environment, it’s all about elegance and romance and this makes The Light House the ideal place to spend the night. When you enter the gates of these ‘boutique suites’, you can’t help but notice: every little detail is being taken care of. From the fresh roses to a six-course breakfast menu (no joke!).
In this post, you can read all about my experiences.

4. Mannabay in Gardens
In the Garden district at the foot of Table Mountain you can find the amazing Mannabay boutique hotel. The common rooms of this hotel are all decorated differently, but all extremely stylish and with eye for detail and modern art. Every room has it’s own theme: from the flamingo suite to the Persian suite. And breakfast here offers the best view ever. Period. Because of the fact that Gardens is a little further from the city centre, the hotel offers a complimentary driver who takes you everywhere and a chef that makes a very extensive high tea every day, to keep you full until dinner.
In this post, you can read all about it.
